My friend, former colleague (on an orchard…it’s a good story) and roommate in New Zealand Erik has been in town visiting from Sweden. He was up for an adventure, so we headed up to Rocky Mountain National Park this past weekend to do some hiking.

Here’s the trip report, as told by Instagram:

We hiked to 4 different lakes within the park, starting at the Bear Lake Trailhead.

Dream Lake, with Hallett peak in the clouds.

A very frozen Emerald Lake, with low clouds above.

We then headed to the Lumpy Ridge Trailhead to hike up to Gem Lake. We had good views along the way.

Gem Lake was beautiful as always

Then Erik took a photo of Jen and I

All in all, it was a great time. It’s pretty cool experiencing these familiar places with someone seeing them for the first time.
