After about 20 hours of problem solving over the past 6 weeks I finally found out why I was getting internal server errors while logging in to the back end of my website- a tiny php file deeply embedded in my wp theme was incompatible with my server, causing the site to crash every time I tried to log in to the back end.
In case anyone out there searches for 500 Internal Server Error with Go Daddy (godaddy), the compatibility issue I was having was relating to my theme InFocus and godaddy.com hosting. More information can be found here- http://themeforest.net/item/infocus-powerful-professional-wordpress-theme/discussion/85486?page=79
In short, this issue was a compatability issue between the code that makes up my site and the host that I use- godaddy.com
I’m excited to be back in the driver’s seat, especially since I haven’t had the time to fix the issue on the site due to being really busy with work and moving across town.
Live and learn I suppose! Look for more updates in the coming days and weeks.
